Body Acceptance : Talking about things we forget are normal

This ones a wee different and while I talk mainly about women's issues, this a societal issue and it is up to everyone to play their part in changing it. I have never had huge issues with my body and I like how it looks however there are always certain doubts that come when I'm overthinking which outfit I prefer. I believe it is truly normal to doubt ourselves and our bodies however it is how we react to our own negative judgements that determines how we see ourselves over all. I believe that body acceptance and body image are not common in conversation and they should be! How is anyone ever meant to know what's normal if people refuse to talk about it.  The ideal of being "constantly slim" is pushed in the media and in conversation and it is easy to forget that it is normal for you to look bloated after eating, you can't be "flat" all the time, the food has to sit somewhere.  As I said before, the media portrays women as also slim and small and this...

My Undying Love for Smoothie Bowls: Making Breakfast Fun

It's another food post! I'm really excited to write this post because I have fallen in love with smoothie bowls this year and I want to share some tips and tricks I've learned to make some of the tastiest smoothie bowls! Shoutout to @turmeric.oats on Instagram for helping me improve my smoothie bowl making abilities😎. Unfortunately, I do not have a food processor so I am very rarely able to make smoothie bowls because our wee smoothie maker doesn't have enough oomph to make thick smoothies.  So far, my favourite smoothie bowl would have to be banana and blueberry, with a banana and mixed berry in close second. The consistency of the smoothie bowl is probably the most important, it needs to be about the same thickness of soft serve ice cream. It's easier to get this by using frozen bananas or both frozen bananas and frozen berries. The more frozen elements you can add in, the thicker you are able to make the smoothie, as long as you have a food processor that can ...

Attempting to become more healthy and Earth savey *lifestyle*

I really care about the planet and I try my best to do my part in the helping the earth where I can. My family and I have our own compost bins and we recycle the recyclable things. We use reusable bags and containers and try and play our part in changing the world. We also use shampoo and conditioner bars to reduce the amount of plastic we are consuming. However I believe there is more we can be doing, or that I could do.  I have always dreamed of making a big difference to the world but a lot of the time I feel so small and insignificant that it's hard to feel inspired to make a change. That on top of all the negative media you see surrounding climate change and poverty and all those kinds of world problems. It can get quite hard to feel positive and motivated to make a change but at this month I am all about making changes and pushing through those grueling unmotivated days.  Over the past few weeks I have flirted with the idea of becoming vegetarian ( and even though ...

❀ Summer Style Wishlist '21❀

Image
I do not have the most extensive wardrobe (sadly). But here are some clothing items I wish I owned this summer! I try not to support the fast fashion industry where I can and my friends and I enjoy thrifting but sometimes you can't get the items you really want at a thrift shop.  I don't own any of these items (unfortunately) but if I had the money here are some super cute items I would love to wear in the coming months.  ❀ White Dresses I have been obsessed with white dresses for the past couple of months. I am not really a white person because I'm so scared of getting dirty but white dresses and the prettiest things I. Would. Die. For. Them. I absolutely adore  THIS DRESS  from Showpo so Imma see if I can save for it and not for guilty for getting it.  ❀ S carf Tops Ok Imma make it known...I have a moderately modest clothing style, I like the idea of scarf tops but my body confidence is not quite there. However I've tried on a few scarf tops and they made me f...
