My Undying Love for Smoothie Bowls: Making Breakfast Fun

It's another food post! I'm really excited to write this post because I have fallen in love with smoothie bowls this year and I want to share some tips and tricks I've learned to make some of the tastiest smoothie bowls! Shoutout to @turmeric.oats on Instagram for helping me improve my smoothie bowl making abilities😎. Unfortunately, I do not have a food processor so I am very rarely able to make smoothie bowls because our wee smoothie maker doesn't have enough oomph to make thick smoothies.

So far, my favourite smoothie bowl would have to be banana and blueberry, with a banana and mixed berry in close second. The consistency of the smoothie bowl is probably the most important, it needs to be about the same thickness of soft serve ice cream. It's easier to get this by using frozen bananas or both frozen bananas and frozen berries. The more frozen elements you can add in, the thicker you are able to make the smoothie, as long as you have a food processor that can handle ✨thicc✨. I then add either a plant based milk or a cows milk depending on what we have in the fridge at the time. You've just got to make sure not to add too much milk because this will really be the determining factor of how thick you can make it.

There are two other very very super important factors of a good smoothie bowl, the toppings and the bowl you serve it in. I love using dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and sometimes granola butter and muesli, as well as fresh fruit, it just depends on how I feel. On my last smoothie bowl I had seeds and cranberries and I really enjoyed it. However what you put on it is completely down to you! You can be as wild and as crazy as you like!

A huge thank you to @turmeric.oats for introducing me to the aesthetic-ness of coconut bowls. These bowls are super cool and make any simple smoothie bowl look café worthy. Coconut bowls can only handle cold things which makes them super good for smoothie bowls but not really handy for much else. They are super aesthetic though. You do not need to go out and buy an aesthetic bowl to make good smoothies though, so just pick our your favourite bowl and fill it full of smoothie!

I hope you enjoyed this fun chat about how I like my smoothie bowls and how I fell in love with coconut bowls but I hope you enjoyed it anyway ✌. Even if you don't enjoy smoothie bowls, make your breakfast fun. I know how hard it can be to feel hungry to eat first thing in the morning so make foods you enjoy and have fun with it!
